‘Deck me out in my glad rags and let me celebrate at the Climate Change Bug Ball!!’ demands Linden Dean. Her outfit hopes for a resurgence following years of diminishing insect numbers with droughts, bushfires and the ecological impacts of climate change.
Srivilasa incorporates this story through black and gold insects representing those that are disappearing; the ones at the top in colour symbolise the ones that are surviving. Following recent rains, Linden has noticed Greengrocer cicadas, Christmas beetles, Bogong moths and Blue-banded bees that have been absent for many years, finding ‘happiness and calmness’ in their return.
