‘I feel honoured to be given the platform to share my work with WorldPride. My work focuses on authentic representations of the queer Indigenous community, representing connection to Country and our love for each other. It means a great deal that those often under-represented can stand proudly and defiantly sharing tender moments.’
Dylan Mooney is included in two projects with Sydney WorldPride, including a 40-metre mural in Darlinghurst and artworks projected onto the façade of Hyde Park Barracks.
Queer in Warrane will champion queer creativity over five nights on the façade of Hyde Park Barracks. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed site will be transformed with a series of activations by Dylan sharing our complex history in a contemporary way. The program features music curated by FBi Radio, and illuminated kaleidoscopic light projections by Dylan that will amplify and uncover diverse stories. This temporary exhibition runs 22 – 26 February.
Still Thriving will see Dylan and a team of muralists paint a 40-metre mural on the side of the Top of the Town building in Darlinghurst to celebrate Sydney WorldPride and his new exhibition Still Thriving, opening at N.Smith Gallery in March.
