N.Smith Gallery is delighted to present Our Nude – a portrait begun during Natasha Walsh’s recent exhibition Hysteria,now completed and on view at the gallery for 3 days only.
Our Nude is a portrait of acclaimed author Bri Lee that references major artworks by Pablo Picasso. Repositioning the muse as collaborator, Natasha’s reimagined artworks act to not only give agency to the sitter, but empower audiences to question institutions as to what artworks make up art history and re-assess the art historical canon through their own eyes.
To celebrate the final week of Louise Zhang: Queen Mother of the West, Natasha’s portrait of Louise Zhang Princess of the Pink Plastic Hand-Held Fan joins Our Nude.
