In an exhibition spotlighting the vitality of contemporary painting in Australia, Thea Anamara Perkins consideration of First Nations representation utilises painting as a tool for empathy. Featuring 14 Australian women artists, the show brings together recent MCA Collection acquisitions alongside new and recent works.
Curated by Suzanne Cotter and Manya Sellers, The Intelligence of Painting responds to the MCA’s commitment to be a platform for living artists and the Museum’s privileged role in showcasing their art to the broader public in Australia and to the world.
